Meet the Volunteer Board

Our Annual Board Meeting - a time for the community to come and see what we’ve accomplished this year!

Here's something that surprises a lot of first-time visitors to Spring Creek Community Center: every single board member is a volunteer. It's neighbors, running a nonprofit, for neighbors. You can meet our whole board on this page!

The SCCC Board of Directors meets the first Monday of every month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the SCORED Classroom in the business center. (note: meeting times can shift slightly during winter months — check our calendar before you come). Every meeting opens with time for public comments, and the community is welcome to stay for the public portion of the full meeting. This isn't a closed-door operation. If you have a concern about the building, an idea for a new program, or a question about how grant funds are being used, you're invited to show up and say so.

Board members oversee everything from the strategic plan and bylaws to fundraising strategy and grant applications — including the grants that funded the full restoration of our historic building, and the ones that now sustain our ongoing programming and operations. They also sit on committees covering specific areas of SCCC's work, from event planning to grounds and facilities.

Running a community center this way is harder than hiring staff. It's also, we think, exactly right for a place like Spring Creek — a township where the people using the building are the same people maintaining it, funding it, and deciding its future.
