Spring Creek Community Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 56-2135389) funded entirely by donations, fundraising events, space rentals, and grants — with no government operating budget to rely on. Every dollar raised goes toward utilities, building maintenance, required insurance, and the free and low-cost programs that serve our remote Madison County township.

Our Fundraising Committee organizes signature annual events throughout the year, each led by dedicated board members and volunteers: the Annual Yard Sale, Car Show & Pie Contest, Christmas Bazaar, Chili Cook-Off, and our presence at the Bluff Mountain Festival. A separate Grants Committee works alongside the fundraising team to research opportunities, write applications, and manage awarded grants — supporting major projects like the SCORED business center and Value Added Kitchen renovation.

In 2024 alone, after 25 years of steady fundraising, SCCC raised enough through donations, events, rent, and grants to hire an architect and move forward on completing our historic school building's renovation. When Hurricane Helene struck Western North Carolina in September 2024, that same fundraising infrastructure let us pivot quickly — opening 4,000 square feet of unrenovated space as a relief center and issuing mini-grants to 36 local families affected by the storm.
