Mission Statement

The Spring Creek Community Center mission is to promote a sense of cooperation, stewardship, and caring for local heritage; to improve the economic circumstances of the community; and to serve the social and educational needs of residents.

About Us

WHO WE ARE NOW

The Madison County Government owns the stone building and property surrounding the Spring Creek Community Center. The building and grounds are leased by our 501(c)3, the Spring Creek Community Center, and we manage them for the benefit of the community.

WHAT WE OFFER

The Spring Creek Community Center provides programs, resources, and gathering opportunities designed to serve people of all ages, including:

Annual community events and seasonal celebrations
A place for fitness and recreation programs, including Forever Fit and pickleball
Educational classes, workshops, and guest presentations
Free access to books, movies, puzzles, and children’s resources through our community library
Business and technology resources, including computers, printing, copying, and complimentary high-speed internet
Rentable space for meetings, classes, private celebrations, and community gatherings
Opportunities for local organizations, businesses, instructors, and community members to offer programs
Displays that preserve and share Spring Creek’s local history
A welcoming place for neighbors to gather, connect, learn, and support one another

OUR COMMUNAL SPACES

Community Library
Our community library contains a large collection of donated books, movies, and puzzles. It also includes a children’s nook where we can hold activities and events for younger members of the community.

History Hallway
The hallway behind Dave’s 209 is filled with school photographs, family pictures, and other local memorabilia. We invite visitors to spend some time exploring the displays and learning more about the people and history of Spring Creek.

Gymnasium and Auditorium
Our gymnasium and auditorium provide space for community gatherings, educational programs, exercise classes, potlucks, craft and activity nights, art classes, and much more.

Regular activities include Forever Fit, which focuses on strength, flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular health, as well as pickleball practice and play times.

SCORED! Business Center
SCORED! (Spring Creek Office for Rural Economic Development) aka the Business Center, expands access to office space, technology, and business resources for Spring Creek and the surrounding area. The SCORED! Classroom/Conference Room is equipped to support in-person, hybrid, and virtual classes.

Community members can use the Center’s computers and private rooms for telemedicine visits and other important or confidential online appointments. A high-volume printer and copier are also available for community use.

Although you may notice the striking stone schoolhouse first, the SCCC is only one component of the Spring Creek Campus.
- Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department (SCVFD)
  - The SCVFD responds to structure and wildfires, medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, natural disasters, and other emergencies. It is manned by volunteer firefighters, EMTs, first responders, and auxiliary members.
  - They have meetings weekly in the fire station on Tuesdays between 7-9p. Their meetings are open to the public.
  - There are many ways to volunteer with the Fire Department, including becoming a firefighter, joining the Auxiliary or Board, supporting and attending their events, or making donations.
  - The SCVFD is located directly to the south of the SCCC. There is a helipad between the SCVFD and the SCCC.
  - For emergencies, always call 911.
- Spring Creek Nutri tion Site
  - Behind the SCCC is the Senior Nutrition Meal Site (operated by Madison County). This is a place where those 55+ can meet with friends and enjoy a free lunch four days a week.
- Spring Creek Food Pantry
  - Twice per month families in need are able to load up with non-perishable/canned food, meat, fresh vegetables, dairy, and miscellaneous frozen items. Located next door in the same building is the Food Pantry.
- Spring Creek Transfer Station
  - When you live in an unincorporated community, there isn’t a trash collection day. You haul your rubbish and recyclables to the transfer station, which takes it to the dump. The transfer station is located behind the SCCC.
